Thomas (Herring) was born on 6 3 1818 at London England to William (Herring) & Anna (Mag). He married Sarah (Lofty) on 29 3 1866 at Bathurst. His death occurred on 18 1 1887 age66 at Locksley; he was buried at O'connell. The name of Thomas (Herring)'s wife seems sometimes to be shortened to Sarah (Lofty) from Sarah Lofty (Kemp) in some circumstances, perhaps because she would also be known as Sarah Lofty (Barton); or perhaps because she was born out of wedlock; or even that she was daughter of Maria (Lofty) and step-daughter of Jude (Kemp). Thomas (Herring) & Sarah Lofty (Kemp) had 3children, late in life; the children's details are also recorded as: 1.Hannah (Herring) b.13 2 1867 Bathurst. 2.Thomas (Herring) b.1869 or 1872 Fish River.. 3.Henry James b.20 1 1872 Fish River. Sarah (Lofty) is mentioned in the entry for Robert (Barton) on this Website.
