ROBERT SHAW was tried for stealing goods from Mr. H. Smith, merchant, of Gainsborough, and WM. HEWITT, (aged 55,) for receiving the same. Here too Frith was the principal evidence, and both prisoners were found guilty.—: there was another indictment against Wm. Hewitt, but no evidence being adduced, he was of course acquitted on that charge. ... Stamford Mercury, 29 July 1814. The following are the sentences of the prisoners : ... Robert Shaw, ...
