Indent No; 17696. EXECUTED at Hobart Town. 26 January 1855. The Tasmanian Colonist (Hobart Town, Tas. : 1851 - 1855) Mon 11 Jun 1855. Page 2. Supreme Court. Wednesday, June 6. (Before His Honor Mr. Justice Home.) Edward Heylin, after being found guilty of a violent assault and burglary, was tried for shooting at Robert Allison, with the intent of murdering him. and in a second count for firing at Allison with the intent of doing him some grievous bodily harm. The same evidence was produced as what appeared relative to the apprehension of the prisoner and Knight in the burglary case. The prisoner was defended by Mr. Knight with great ability. The jury after being locked up several hours, brought in a verdict of guilty on the second count.
