Thomas Hill was transported on the Surrey Or Surry, departing 29th Sep 1818 and arriving 4th Mar 1819 with 160 passengers.
Built at Harwich in 1811 a square-rigged transport ship of 443 tons and copper lined she had two decks with a height between decks of 5 ft. 8 ins. In 1818, she had a major refit increasing the decks (and convict carrying capacity) to three. She was owned by the London firm of F. & C.F. Mangles.

Registers Court Martial. https://nla.gov.au/nla.obj-1606814777/view Private William Mayberry, 3rd Drns Regt, and Privater Thomas Hill, 3rd Drns Regt, Tried at Guines, 17 Feb 1818, for Stealing a Porte-manteau. Transportation as a Felons for 7 years. Case sent to Prince Regent, 7 Apr 1818 for confirmation before the Prince Regent. They were soldiers in the 3rd Dragoons. Both transported on the same ship.
