Yes, William was assigned to John Bisdee, in VDL. Bisdee came to Tasmania in 1821, with his wife, and was granted land at Bothwell and later at Jericho, Tas. He was highly regarded and held various positions for the government. His brother Edward also came out and managed the properties. He was also known as a tree propagator. Bisdee was known as a just and humane man who had many convicts assigned to him (and was instrumental in convincing the govt to use this system rather than prison).

Appears on Musters throughout sentence assigned to a John Bisdee (sp not 100% sure on surname) under the number 921. 1935 Muster lists him as "Free by servitude 14 July". On which date he was 21. No returning records yet, but married in Warwickshire to first wife 17 Oct 1843.
