Convict Notes

Eve (37) and her daughter Jane (17) broke into and stole from Daniel Wallings house at Silverdale 3 hams, part of a flitch of bacon, a hogs cheek and 12 shillings in money in May 1804. At the August Assizes at Lancaster Castle Jane was given 12 months in Preston's House of Correction with hard labour whilst her mother Eve was transported onboard the William Pitt. Two years later, Jane, now released once again stole money at Silverdale and this time at the July Quarter Sessions at Lancaster Castle in 1806 was convicted to receive the same sentence as her mother and was put aboard the Speke, arriving in 1808. If anyone can provide further information on Eve and Jane Hodgson after arrival in Australia I would be grateful for any further info, on their respective pages or to me at lancastrianresearch@gmail.com
