On Thursday arrived from Calcutta, via Derwent, the ship Mary, Captain Ormon, with a various cargo. -Passengers from Calcutta, Captain Faithfull and Lieutenant Hamilton:-The Mary sailed from Calcutta the 23d of February, and left the Pilot the 1st of March. 1824, 28 February: Joseph HONOURS was convicted at Parramatta and sentenced to five years in jail (see NSW, Australia, Convict Records, 1810-1891; Port Macquarie Penal Settlement; Port Macquarie: List of Convicts, 1822-1825). 1825: Joseph HONOURS – free by servitude – Mary 1819, labourer, Sydney (see NSW and Tasmania, Australia Convict Musters, 1806-1849, New South Wales General muster A-L 1825). 1826, 14 September: Joseph HONAURS (HONOURS) – Certificate of Freedom #18/5669 – convicted Cork City, Summer 1818, 7 years; native place Cork City; shoemaker’s apprentice; 26, 5’11”, ruddy and freckled complexion, dark brown hair, grey eyes, blind in right eye. Remarks: Sentenced 28 Feb 1824 to be sent to Port Macquarie for five years. Notation: Issued “in lieu of No 58/3901 returned mutilated and cancelled” (see NSW, Australia, Certificates of Freedom, 1810-1814, 1827-1867).
