George HOOPER was convicted at Wilts on 6 Mar 1830 for housebreaking. One previous offence. Life sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Clyde'. Work assignments in the Colony. Several records of misconduct. 13 Mar 1840: Burglary - committed for trial. 15 April 1840 - Further 14yr sentence. To be sent to Port Arthur Penal Settlement for 3 yrs.
