On Thursday arrived from Calcutta, via Derwent, the ship Mary, Captain Ormon, with a various cargo. -Passengers from Calcutta, Captain Faithfull and Lieutenant Hamilton:-The Mary sailed from Calcutta the 23d of February, and left the Pilot the 1st of March. Transported seven years —-Mary Ann Hough, (aged 31), for stealing money from J. Bedford; Manchester Mercury, 30 July 1822.


Mary Ann was convicted at the Lancaster Quarter Sessions helf at Salford, Manchester on 22nd July 1822. She had several past convictions. She had stolen 30 shillings in silver coins from a James Redford at Manchester. She was sent to Lancaster Castle to await transportation and was put on the Mary at Woolwich on 17/5/1823.
