Convict Notes

Birth date unconfirmed but likely correct. Death date not known. Many people list her as dying in the 1850s but I have found no evidence of this. All death records checked under names of Howard, Andrews and Hammond in Tasmania. Have found no evidence of her dying in Tasmania. Do have a possible death for her in Victoria. Bore at least three children to Richard Hammond in Tasmania. These children were deserted by both parents and sent to the children's orphanage.

Elizabeth Howard was born in Burselem and was 20 years old on arrival, transported for stealing wearing apparel. Elizabeth was single, could read and was 4'11 1/2" tall. 11/10/1852: Free Certificate. 6/12/1839: Married John Andrews (Phoenix 1824) at St Davids Church, Hobart - Elizabeth was 22 and John 32. One child recorded, Mary Ellen Andrews born 1839.

Married John Andrews 16 DEC 1839 Hobart, Tasmania.
