SYDNEY GAOL, Dec. 28, 1824 THE undermentioned Prisoners, Runaways from Port Macquarie, having ESCAPED from the above GAOL, during the Night of the 25th ult; viz. SAMUEL PEARSON, per Eliza, 26 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, dark eyes, sandy brown hair, and fair pale complexion. PATRICK HEOY, per Isabella, 24 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches and a half high, blue eyes, brown hair, freckled complexion. GEORGE KEAN, per Elizabeth, 20 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches and a half high, hazle eyes, brown hair, fair ruddy complexion. All Constables, and Others, are hereby required to use their utmost Exertions in retaking and lodging them in the above Gaol. JOHN REDMAN, Gaoler. Sydney Gazette, 6 Jan 1825.

Patrick Hoyle was listed as 22 years old on arrival - a Labourer, 5'8" tall, stout build, fair hair, grey eyes. Assigned, to the Prisoners’ Barracks at Cabramatta. Absconded from Mr. T. Laycock's clearing party. Jan. 1824: Sent to gaol in Sydney. Colonial Secretary Index: HOYLE, Patrick. Per "Isabella", 1822 1824 Jan: On return of convicts received at the Establishment, Emu Plains; from Sydney. Listed as Hoye (Reel 6028; 2/8283 p.209) 1824 Feb 19: On lists of prisoners transported to Port Macquarie per "Lady Nelson" (Reel 6019; 4/3864 pp.112, 464-5) 25/12/1824: Listed as Hoey - escaped from Sydney gaol. July 1826: Assigned to the AA Company, Newcastle. 28/4/1828: COF 7/12/1830: Charged with assault of Mary Rushton - sentenced to 6 months gaol and COF revoked. 1833: COF 1836: Married Hannah Garden (Earl of Liverpool 1831) at St. John's, Parramatta. They had 4 children. 5/5/1840: Patrick Hoyle died - initially buried in the Old Devonshire Street (Sandhills) Cemetery, in 1901 when the cemetery was closed his remains wsere sent to the Rookwood Cemetery. His headstone reads: SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF PATRICK HALL BORN IN THE COUNTY OF LOUTH IRELAND 1800 WHO DEPARTED THIS LIFE ON THE 5 OF MAY 1840 REQUESCANT IN PEACE. AMEN MOURN NOT FOR ME MY WIFE AND CHILDREN DEAR AS GOD BEEN PLEASED TO CALL ME HERE BUT AS THE GRAVE WE ALL MUST TAKE SO LOVE MY CHILDREN FOR MY SAKE
