1825 Journey. On Saturday morning (3 Dec) arrived from London and Dublin, the ship Henry Porcher, Captain John Thompson, with 175 male prisoners, having lost one man - the rest in good health. She sailed from London the 10th of July, and Dublin the 5th of August. The guard comprises a detachment of the 47th Regiment, under the orders of Captain Donaldson. The Surgeon Superintendent is Dr. CARTER, R. N. Sydney Gazette, 5 Dec 1825.

National Archives, Criminal Petitions. HO 17/55/71. Prisoner name: Benjamin Hughes. Prisoner age: 18 years. Court and date of trial: Kent Quarter Sessions, Maidstone, April 1834. Crime: Stealing apparel - one coat and other articles from Frederick Dyer Percy (prosecutor, a tailor of Maidstone). Initial sentence: Seven years transportation. Gaoler's report: 'Character bad'. Ordered to Fortitude. Annotated (Outcome): 'Nil'. Petitioner(s): Frederick Dyer Percy prosecutor undersigned by 11 inhabitants of Yalding [Kent] known to the convict. Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): Previous good character; his first offence; he has an aged and distressed mother; his great contrition. Date: 1834 Apr 28.
