173191 Hughes John - Guildford 1829. 25 January 1843 Newcastle gaol. State Archives NSW; Gaol Entrance Book, Item: 2/2020; Roll: 757. David Hartigan, John Hughes and George Brown admitted to Newcastle gaol from Murrurundi charged with aiding and abetting two armed bushrangers to escape from a constable. endeavouring to apprehend them. Sent for trial.
