Commenced fitting as a Convict Transport at Deptford on the 29 March. Surgeon Superintendent [Andrew Henderson] joined on the 3rd April. Guard embarked on the 13th. Sailed on the 17th and anchored in Kingston Barbour near Dublin on the 9th May. 220 convicts embarked on the 16 May 1833 and the ship sailed from Dublin Bay for Sydney on the 4th June and arrived there on the 20 October. Originally embarked with 221 convicts, 5 Died at sea, 1 was Relanded. 11 sick on shore, The convicts were described as 220 such wretchedly debilitated creatures ... Hereford— Joseph Hughes was charged with breaking and entering the dwelling-house of Thomas Pitt, and stealing therefrom 100 sovereigns, two guineas, and half guinea— … Hereford Journal, 7 April 1830. ----------------------------------------------------- On Thursday and Friday last the following convicts, against whom sentence of death was recorded at our last Assizes and commuted to transportation for life, were removed from our county gaol to their destination at Chatham:—William Cooke; Joseph Hughes; Thomas Jones; John Morgan; Wm. Price; Miles Pearce ; William Preece; John Roberts alias Fletcher; William Thomas; Daniel Webb; and Thomas Evans, sentenced to 14 years at the Assizes, and John Lloyd, to 7 years transportation at the last October Sessions Hereford Journal, 26 May 1830.
