There is no evidence anywhere which conclusively links William Humphreys the convict with the William Humphries who married Louisa Arpin and came to Victoria. It is possible they are one and the same, but equally possible they are not. Having the same name & place of origin is not sufficient proof unfortunately.

Tried: 29 July 1818 Transported for robbery of 19 pounds and 1 shilling Born 1796, Shropshire as per death certificate Pardoned 17 October 1826 - same day was fined five shillings for being "drunk and disorderly last night" Married Louisa Jane Arpin about 1832-3 in Launceston, Tas. and had many children.
