Convict Notes

I am not a descendant of James Humphries, just a volunteer researcher. James Humphries: born 1809. Convicted at Warwick, Warwickshire, England, on 11th August 1830 at age 22yrs. Transport ship ‘ARGYLE’, to Tasmania on 5th March 1831. Description: 22yrs old, 5ft 7½ inches, hair light brown, eyes blue. Mphries James Humphries married on 14 October 1843, Hobart, Tasmania, to convict Ann Beard (born Edinburgh Scotland 1809). Ann was convicted of larceny at the Old Baily. Transport ship ‘Hindostan’ arrived at Hobart on the 14th January 1839. To stop confusion, PLEASE NOTE: there is more than one Ann Beard (one with an alias 'Beer') and they came out on different ships, during different years. I have not yet located James' parents.
