Samuel HUNT was convicted at Stafford, England on 19 Oct 1831 for stealing silk from a factory. 7yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the ship 'Lord William Bentinck' arriving 1832. Married man - wife Margaret at home. 6 children. Aged 47yrs; a bread baker; 5'3 1/2"; ruddy complexion; black/grey hair; grey eyes; right little finger crippled.
