The convict indentures state that Denis Hurley was 22 years old. He could neither read or write; religion Catholic; status single and a native of County Cork. He was a farm labourer. He was convicted of manslaughter on 31 March 1828 in Cork and sentenced to 7 years. He had no prior convictions. Physical attributes: Height - 5 feet 8 1/2 inches; complexion ruddy; hair dark brown and eyes hazel. Transport number 126. He was assigned to Mr William Harper, Hunters River.
