Israel Hyams was transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Countess of Harcourt' 1821. Mother at Friar St. Black...... Rd. Jewish religion. Conditional Pardon no. 500 21/08/1833 Free Pardon no. 247 21/11/1836 Death notice: HYAMS - November 9, at his residence, New Town Road, Israel Hyams, after a long and painful illness, aged 80 years. Deceased arrived in Tasmania in the year 1820. Victorian and New Zealand papers please copy. 8479 (Mercury newspaper, Hobart 12 Nov 1877)
