Trial 16 Nov 1841 at Dublin City for stealing a purse containing money. Desc & family: aged 14 from Offaly, Kings Co IRE, single, 5'2" tall, literate, RC . His father, Walter Hacket & 2 sisters at Kings Co. Trade: nailor (he made iron nails by hand) or maintained card machine (weaving) He was sent to Point Puer where he offended by being AWOL many times. He was sentenced to a flogging & several terms in solitary, as well as hard labour on the roads. Certificate of Freedom- Nov 1848
