James Jackson was indicted for burglary. He had 2 previous convictions once imprisoned for 2 months for breaking lamps at Norwich and was tried at Lynn for stealing barley but was acquitted. James had family at Thetford. His conduct record is full of misconduct a awol charges and he spent a lot of time on road gangs in chains, then in January he absconded from his authorised place of residence and remained illegally at large for 5 years - To be kept to hard labour in chains for 6 months. 9/11/1845 he married Ann Starsmore per Emma Eugenia and had 2 sons, James Thomas 1846 and William 1849. Records say he died in 1892 at Hamilton.
