Convict Notes
1871, 10 October: Jacob Mustoe died a pauper, at the Cascade Paupers' Establishment, Hobart. The cause of death was anasarca or extreme oedema (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/RGD35-1-8p73j2k). According to Wikipedia, "Anasarca is a severe and generalized form of edema, with subcutaneous tissue swelling throughout the body."
1831, 6 December: JACOB MUSTOE, 28, was tried and convicted for larceny - he stole a silver watch from Thomas Townsend Scotford at Chedworth on 28 March (see Gloucestershire, England, Prison Records, 1728-1914; Calendars of Prisoners 1815-1840). 1832: On arrival in VDL, he was 29 years old and single. 1844: He was granted a Free Certificate No.444 (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-30$init=CON31-1-30p94).
