In the colony, Mary married Philip Butcher (Convict, Surrey, 1814). They married At Parramatta in 1820. List of persons praying His Excellency's permission to have their names published in Church in order to their being married - Castlereagh, 3rd January 1820. Phillip Butcher - Prisoner per ship Surry, and Mary Jacob, prisoner per ship Elizabeth signed Henry Fulton Assistant Chaplain Approved signed L. Macquarie. Philip and Mary had 7 children being 5 sons and 2 daughters between 1825 and 1838.
