Abraham Jacobs was transported on the Hercules, departing 14th Jun 1832 and arriving 16th Oct 1832 with 204 passengers.
The "Hercules" ship was built in 1801 at South Sheilds, England. 1801 voyage from Ireland to New South Wales, Australia. Sailed via Rio de Janeiro and the Cape. A mutiny occurred just prior to their arrival at Rio - after 45 minutes it was quashed but 13 convicts had been killed. Jeremiah Pendergass was named as the ring leader and shot. 44 deaths in total on this voyage. There was then another ship, also named, "Hercules" built 1822 at Whitby, England who made 3 trips to Austraia, in 1825, 1830 & 1832.

Abraham was my great great grandfather, his daughter Rachel who married John Kelly was the mother of my grandfather William Abraham Robert Kelly. One of his brothers was named Sydney Hercules that gave me the Hercules clue. The Jewish connection was unknown until my grandfather's death when he put on a yarmulke. My DNA is 5% Ashkenazi Jewish.

Abraham was a travelling jeweller in Prussia and was convicted of 'stealing goods' and was sentenced in the Lancaster Quarter Session, London on 4 July 1831 Abraham was Jewish, could read and write German. He married Eliza Pearce aged 17 who was a born a free person in Parramatta NSW, Abraham was 28 at his marriage. They had 8 children. 2/5/1839: TOL 19/9/1845: COF 1884: Abraham died at Carinda, NSW of ‘diarrhoea’ aged 69.
