1832: On arrival in VDL, he was 22, a labourer and single. He was assigned to Joseph Archer Esq (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON27-1-5$init=CON27-1-5). 1840, 20 July: Granted a Ticket of Leave. 1843, 20 September: Conditional Pardon approved (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-5$init=CON31-1-5p4)
1831, 10 August: Convicted at Gloucester for house robbery. 1831, 6 September: James Bucknall, 21, was admitted to the prison hulk Justitia, moored at Woolwich; he was sent from there on 11 February 1832 for transportation (see UK, Prison Hulk Registers and Letter Books, 1802-1849; Justitia Register 1803-1836).
