Convict application to Marry. James Daniels, per Medway, age 36, Life, Ticket of Leave; and Mary or Margaret Riley/Rielley, or Hanratty, per Edward, age 22, 7 years, Bond. Date of permission, 9 Oct 1830, Rev. J. Docker.
Return of Constables in the distric tof Evan, from 6/1/1825 to 24/5/1825. James Daniels, Subordinate Constable, stationed at the Courtyard of the district adjoining Richmond. His official duties are similar to those of Parsons above. viz, employed in forwarding prisoners, letters, &c to and from Penryth, to the next and adjoining stations.
GOVERNMENT NOTICE. Colonial Secretary's Office, 23d January, 1829. HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the following Alterations in the Police of the Colony, namely— Windsor. James Daniel, per Medway (2), holding a Ticket of Leave, to be Town Constable, in the Room of Griffith Parry, promoted; to bear date from the 1sr instant. Sydney Gazette, 29 Jan 1829. COLONIAL SECRETARY'S OFFICE, SYDNEY, FEBRUARY 10th, 1830. HIS Excellency the Governor has boen pleased to approve of the following Ajterations in the Police of the Colony, namely - Windsor- Constantine Molloy, holding a Ticket of Leave, to be Ordinary Constable, from the 1st instant, in the Room of James Daniels; resigned. The Medway left Calcutta, 27 Jan 1822. Arrived at Sydney Friday 24 May 1822. 24th May 1822. To Thomas Dunne, Chief Constable, Sydney. Sir, On receipt of this letter you will proceed on board the Medway and receive into your charge the persons named in the margin whom you will convey to this office. Signed, J. Goulburn, Col. Sec. Names: James Daniels, James Duke alias Divett, James Church. Letter dated 25 May 1822. This is to certify that Captain Bothwick Wight of the ship Medway, has landed at this port three convicts named James Daniels, James Duke, otherwise called James Divett, and James Church who were embarked on that ship at Calcutta for transportation to this Colony, and the wife and child of the said James Church, all in a clean and healthy state. Dated at the Colonial Secretary’s Office, Sydney, New South Wales this 18th day of June 1822. J. Goulburn.
