Convict Notes
The March 1827 Edinburgh High Court of Justiciary case against James Kenny Stewart and 3 others is outlined in the Convict Record of Allan Grant who was transported for Life on the same Ship Champion. Grant, Stewart (perhaps erroneously reported as a pensioner) along with Mary Muirhead and Isabella Kerr or Gray were originally charged with the January 1827 murder of a Mark Dow - but only convicted of theft from the deceased.
