Convict Notes
James LUCAS was convicted at Chester on 3 March 1829 for stealing a wheelbarrow and pigs, also leaving his Master. 7yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Bussorah Merchant' ship arriving 1830. Single man; aged 25yrs; farm labourer. Father: James LUCAS at Macclesfield Assigned to the Van Diemen's Land Company. 1835: Ticket of Leave granted.
