On arrival in VDL, he was listed as 18, single and a ploughman (and called Meagre on his Description Record). He had previous convictions for shoplifting and stealing a coat. 1841, 11 November: James Megrea received a Conditional Pardon (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-30$init=CON31-1-30p72).
