James Paternoster was 29 years old on arrival. James was tried 5/1/1863, so had spent some time in prison before being transported. James was illiterate, single, 5'1½" tall, brown hair, grey eyes, long face, fresh complexion, slight build, H D, W C, heart right arm, W H, blue marks left arm. Occupation: Type founder. 10/9/1867: TOL 25/10/1870: COF Comments: General Servant and Labourer. 1912: WA BDM - James died at Claremont, WA. Listed on Cemetery records as 80 years old. 19/8/1912 The West Australian, Perth: PETERNOSTER.—The Friends of the late Mr. James Peternoster, late of York, W.A., are respectfully invited to follow his remains to the place of interment, the Anglican portion of the Karrakatta Cemetery. The Funeral is appointed to leave his late residence, Claremont, at 10 o'clock THIS (Monday) MORNING, per road. Friends wishing to attend the Funeral may proceed by the 10.30 o'clock train from Perth. DONALD J. CHIPPER, Funeral Director, 844 Hay-street, Perth, and at Adelaide-street, Fremantle. Telephone 137.
