In the colony, William married Elizabeth Franklin, 6th April 1838. Elizabeth had been born in the colony, the daughter of Samuel Franklin (Convict, 1810,"Indian") and Euphemia (nèe Davis) who was herself the daughter of William Davis (Second Fleet Convict, 1790, "Scarborough") and Jane Reid (Second Fleet Convict, 1790, "Lady Juliana"). William and Elizabeth had 9 children between 1838 and 1860.
