30/3/1832 Leicester Journal Leicestershire, England: COVENTRY LENT ASSIZES Joseph Jephcoat, charged with receiving stolen silk, the property of Mr. Guison, was sentenced to seven years' transportation. Joseph was listed as 27 years old on arrival. Joseph was 5'10ΒΌ" tall, sallow complexion, brown hair, reddish whiskers, light blue eyes, married with 2 children, wife at Coventry. 1833 Muster: Public Works 1835 Muster: Assigned to Mr. J. Allen. Jan.1838: TOL 21/8/1838 Colonial Times, Hobart: Joseph Jeffcoat, a ticket-of-leave man, was charged with being out after hours, and assaulting a constable, who apprehended him. Ordered to the tread wheel one week, and his ticket suspended. 24/3/1839: CP 1844: Again convicted - acquitted.
