Convict Notes
Jeremiah Exham, Samuel French, John Roberts, George William, were indicted for stealing 200lbs. of strands of Cable, value 10s., from the ship Castle Dover which was layhing near Blackwall in the City canal and which Exham was ship-keeper of. Exham had been employed there for 10 years, he lived on board the ship, and had coals allowed him, and 14s. a week. He is a single man. Exham's defence was that they were old rotten cables and the other men said they would sell them. Verdict Guilty and transportation for 7 years. He was 28 at the time of trial. 30/9/1824 COF Dies: aged 64 in 1853 (no district) also no details of his time here.
