This day, the following prisoners, sentenced at the Assizes, were transmitted under an escort of the 37th Regiment, to the Hulk Surprise at Cove:— Edward Carroll, for Rape; James Blake, Horse stealing; William Daly, Larceny ; Martin Ryan, same; John Connors, Pig stealing Michael Mara, Thomas Hayes, John Ward, Patrick Callaghan, Mathew Callaghan, and Jeremiah Sullivan, all for Larceny ; Denis Gorman, Pig stealing. The Convict Indentures state that John Connors was 23 years old. He could read and write; religion Catholic, status single and a native of Limerick. His trade was a farm labourer. He was convicted of pig stealing at Kerry on 15 March 1828 and sentenced to seven years. He had no prior convictions. Physical attributes - Height 5 feet 4 1/2 inches; complexion dark ruddy; hair brown and eyes dark hazel. Transport number 170. Assigned to Mr J. Harrock, Pitt Town. Died at Windsor Hospital 16 December 1833.
