1829 - Waterloo's first voyage arrived at Sydney Cove 9 July 1829. 180 Male Convicts. 2 Died on voyage. 7 sent to the hospital on landing. Total mustered; 171. Stephen Addison - Commander Michael Goodsire - Surgeon Superintendent [His wife was a passenger] 1842 - The Waterloo voyage of 1842 was wrecked on 28/8/1842. 189 people drowned, these being 143 convicts, 15 men of the 99th Regiment, together with 17 wives and children, the boatswain Mr. Chiverton, the sailmaker, the carpenter and 11 of the crew. Convicts were then received in Cape Town Prison from the wreck of the Waterloo, 2nd September 1842. They then completed their voyage to VDL per “Cape Packet” which arrived on 23/11/1842.

National Archives. Criminal Petitions. HO 17/100/38 . Date: 1834 Oct 28 Prisoner name: John Goodson. Prisoner age: 27. Court and date of trial: Suffolk Quarter Sessions, Ipswich, October 1833. Crime: Horse stealing, the property of William Chinery (or William Chenery). Initial sentence: One years imprisonment and transportation for life. Gaoler's report: 'Character indifferent'. Annotated (Outcome): Nil. Petitioner(s): William Chinery, the Prosecutor, forwarded in a letter from William Chinery and [Philip G Browne]. Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): Prisoner is of previous good character and has a reputation for being honest, this is his first offence; prisoner has a family and afflicted mother dependent upon him; the Prosecutor forgives the prisoner. Additional Information: Prisoner ordered to the Leviathan hulk ship.
