There are at least 4 John Jones that were transported on sailings of the Aurora. The NSW Convict Death Register 1826-1879 (page 111) has an entry for a John Jones per the Aurora who died on Norfolk Island on 26 July 1852.
John Jones (note, more than one John Jones on this ship) was convicted at Lancaster 20 Oct 1834 of stealing - money and sentenced to 7yrs transportation - to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania). (Prev. steal a watch.) Age 31 yrs; married; 2 children; 5' 3 3/4"; boiler maker for 12yrs; Native Place: Flints. Wife Ellen at Manchester. Brother Thomas. Sisters - Betsy; Mary; Susan; Ellen & Ann.
