Family connections for John (Redford) are: RE/ADFORD CCONVICTdone John (Red/adford) was born about 1753. He was tried for theft of handkerchiefs etc from bleaching ground of John (Smith) of Cheetham Lancashire at Lancaster Assizes, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 26 6 1790 after a voyage of 8months on Fleet ship NEPTUNE; a voyage noted for extreme brutality of prisoners with a high death rate. He married Martha (Barnett her first marriage) on 4 12 1791 at St Johns CofE Parramatta. He died on 26 5 1796 age about43 speared by natives & was buried, as (Radford), at St Phillips CofE Sydney-Old Sydney Burial Ground. [Some details taken from this Website] Martha (Barnett) was born about 1761. She arrived in NSW as a convict on 8 7 1791 after a voyage of 6months on Fleet ship MARY ANN. She was an emancipist when she married secondly George (Fieldhouse his first marriage) on 17 9 1797 at St Phillips CofE Sydney.
