Further research has shown that the father of her son William Johnson was a French convict, Jean Pierre Meunier. See https://peopleaustralia.anu.edu.au/biography/meunier-jean-pierre--32926/text41014

Frances JOHNSON nee MILLS was born in Morpeth, Northumberland. She first married Mark JOHNSON and lived in Scotton, Lincolnshire. After his disappearance and presumed death she was convicted of stealing a cap, an apron and a ten pound note and transported for 7 years. She had two children in Sydney, both probably to John MAWSON ("Ocean" 1815)and after his death she married Capper PASS ("Canada" 1819).
