Family connections for Mary (Johnson) are: JOHNSON Mary (Johnson) was born about 1763. She was tried for shop lifting at Old Bailey on 26 4 1786, sentenced to 7years, held probably at London/Middlesex Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW as a convict on 22 1 1788 after a voyage of 10months on PRINCE OF WALES. She had a relationship with James (Meredith) officer from FRIENDSHIP 1788 & produced a 2children. [Some details taken from this Website. Mary (Hughes PRINCE OF WALES 1788) may be the same person.] James (Meredith) arrived in NSW as Captain of 40th Chatham Co 47th Portsmouth Regiment on 21 1 1788 after a voyage of 6months on First Fleet ship FRIENDSHIP. He is recorded in another relationship with Mary (Hughes). He is recorded as to have left the colony in 1791. Mary (Johnson) & James (Meredith) produced perhaps 2children-shown here from this Website: some inconsistency here, suggesting Mary (Johnson) & Mary (Hughes) are the same person. 1.James (Meredith) was born in 1790. He was taken to UK by his father in 1791. 2.Mary (Meredith) was born in 1792.
