There are at least 4 John Jones that were transported on sailings of the Aurora. The NSW Convict Death Register 1826-1879 (page 111) has an entry for a John Jones per the Aurora who died on Norfolk Island on 26 July 1852.

This may be the same John Jones who came to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania)? John Jones, tried at Chester for Burglary and given Life Sentence, arrived VDL 8 Oct 1835. He was transferred to Norfolk Island 15 Dec 1849 ('Lady Franklin'). Died Norfolk Island 26 Jul 1852.
