John Jones was convicted for Burglary and transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Lady East' 1824. 2nd Conviction - in Colony: 17/01/1848: Richmond, Tasmania - Larceny, steal from a cart. 7yr sentence. Station Gang: Port Arthur Penal settlement. 1849: Hobart 1851: New Norfolk Single; Protestant; 5'6 3/4"; aged 48yrs; ruddy complexion; black/grey hair; Hazel eyes; labourer. Left leg had been broken. Native Place: Shewsbury. Ticket of Leave 03/06/1852
