The following prisoners convicted at our Assizes and Sessions were on Monday removed from our County Gaol, to the Fortitude Hulk at Chatham, previous to being transported :— … Joseph Jones, for a highway robbery at Madeley-—14 years - Shrewsbury Chronicle, 20 May 1836. Hulk Records. Chatham, Fortitude Hulk HO-9-2_3 (page 27/43) Received from Shrewsbury, 18 May 1836. Joseph Jones, age 21, Stealing from the person, Tried 18 March 1836, Shrewsbury, 14 years. To NSW 22 Sept 1836.
