Owen Jones is listed as being 22 years old on arrival in VDL - he was transported for 'Housebreaking by night and stealing trousers'. Previous convictions: Vagrancy 1 month - "I escaped over the prison wall". Born in Merionethshire, 5'5 1/4" tall, sallow complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, illiterate, protestant, single. Father: Maurice Sisters: Ann, Ellen 18/7/1845: Released from ist stage of Probation. 25/1/1848: TOL 14/11/1862: There were 3 other Owen Jones in VDL at the same time - no actual proof this death is the man listed above, however, the dates do fit - Owen Jones aged 40, a labourer, died at Launceston of 'Necosis of the femur' (usually associated with a broken hip and therefore a lack of blood to the area".
