Mary Crawley, 19 and Martha Fennington, I7. for robbing Patrick Griffiths on the highway at Liverpool" Arrival 18 May 1821 Sydney Cove, on the "Speke". Indent: convicted Lancaster Assizes 23 Aug 1820 life sentence, age 20, native of Liverpool, labourer, 5ft 7 3/4in, fair pale complexion, flaxen hair, grey eyes, Tof L 29/922, CP 804 On lists of convicts maintained by William Cox free of expense to the Crown; in 1821 and 1823. (Col sec index) 1823 On list of convicts in the employ of William Cox of Clarendon and his two sons George and Henry. (Col sec index) 1825 muster at Evan: convict employed by Henry Cox 1828 Census: Mulgoa, New South Wales, Age 29 Protestant, GS, labourer for Henry Cox, Glenmore, Mulgoa (at Evan district) Ticket of Leave 10 Dec 1829, 29/922, for the district of Evan, which has notation CP No 804 [recommended] on 31 Dec 1836 In January 1831 he was arrested and sent to  Sydney Gaol In June 1831 with others, he was tried for receiving a stolen watch from the bushranger Walmsley. They were acquitted 1837 convict muster: age 34 TofL Penrith Newspaper notice before marriage in SMH 13 Aug 1857: "NOTICE.-If any Man has any just CLAIM on MARY SMITH, they must declare it before the 30th of August, 1857, at the residence of Samuel Jones, Greendale, as Mary Smith intends to be married." Marriage 10 Nov 1857 at Mulgoa, New South Wales: Samuel Jones (age 57, bachelor, farmer) and Mary Smith (50, widow) at St Thomas church Mulgoa. The marriage register noted that they both lived at Greendale, Samuel's birthplace was Liverpool, his mother was Elizabeth Howard, his father "a seafaring man".
