**Note from Moderator** Please do not change the 'Convicted at location' - all records state Joseph was convicted at Suffolk Assizes. 22/1/1817 Bury and Norwich Post Suffolk, England: Friday, Joseph Bradfield, aged 14, was found guilty of stealing a pair of pistols, the property of Mr. Charles Mayes, gunsmith, in St. Peter's Man- croft, and sentenced to 3 months' imprisonment in Bridewell, and to be privately whipped. 8/8/1817 Cambridge Chronicle and Journal Cambridgeshire, England: SUFFOLK ASSIZES At these Assizes 10 prisoners were capitally convicted and received sentence of death, viz. Robert Bane, Benj. Sharman, James English and Thomas Watson, for burglary ; Edward Woodroffe and Robert Youngs, for horse stealing; Joseph Bredfield, for house-breaking in the day time. Joseph Bradfield was listed as 15 years old on arrival. Native Place: Norwich. Joseph was 5'0½" tall, fair ruddy complexion, dark flaxen hair, dark eyes. 22/7/1831: TOL Paterson Plains. 30/11/1837: CP

Notes: Textile dyer, carpenter & blacksmith of Seaham NSW. After his marriage, Joseph lived in the Williams River area of NSW until c1869. He moved to Palmers Island (Lower Clarence River) NSW where his wife Ann died. Joseph died on 14 Sept. 1886 at Grafton NSW.
