Another child: Isabella Jane Duckers b. 1837 Campbell Town, VDL. (She married Charles Hart 1876 in Victoria. Died 1929 Vic, aged 92yrs.) Joseph Duckers moved to Victoria but was tried and convicted 18/10/1845 in Melbourne for forgery - but under the alias name of JOSEPH HUGHES. He was found guilty and retransported for 7yrs - back to Van Diemen's Land - on the ship 'Flying Fish' 1845. (Details of what happened to wife Ann Cook, not known at this stage.) He remarried - to Elizabeth Brennan (convict per Lord Auckland) 21/04/1851 Hobart. ref. 201/1851-37, Elizabeth recorded as "Brenend".

Single man; 5'9"; grey eyes; dk brown hair; dark complexion; aged 23yrs. Hulk Report: very bad. Full details on Archive record. Was put in "Black Hole', in chains,lashes, refused to work etc. Van Diemen's Land: 27/07/1831: Drunkeness - 10 days Tread Wheel. 08/11/1832: Insolence & disobey orders - 50 lashes. 25/07/1832: Absent without leave from Master (Mr. Day) at Mt. Direction. 7 days Tread Wheel. several other records of misconduct. Free by servitude. 26/09/1837: Larceny - committed for trial. 05/10/1837: Convicted of stealing 2 fowls. - 7yr transportation sentence. 2yrs Probation at Campbell Town Gang. 16/05/1838: Campbell Town Chain Gang/ misconduct. 3mths hard labour, chains and recommended to be removed from Gang and sent to Spring Hills. 1839- 1842: Oatlands. Free Certificate no. 970 1844. Married Ann Cook 16/03/1836 Launceston 3381/1836-36. (Application for permission to marry on 12/02/1836) Child: Mary Ann baptised 19/03/1838 Campbell Town. (ref. 9048/1838-32).
