1830 - - New South Wales, Australia, Convict Indents. Adrian Name; Joseph Free Age; 36 years, Protestant, Married - 5 children Native Place; Bucks Trade or calling; Baker & farm lab Offence; House breaking Trial; 27 July 1829 - Life 2 Previous Conviction. Height; 5ft. 6 in Noted against name; Convicted of MURDER & executed at Sydney. 11 May 1836. 1836 - The Sydney Gazette and New South Wales Advertiser. Thu 12 May 1836. Page 3 Joseph Free convicted on Monday of the wilful murder of Edward Brown, at Gingle Creek, underwent the extreme penalty of the law yesterday morning. He had made a full confession of his guilt on the previous day. After hanging the usual time, the body was cut down and forwarded to the general hospital for the purpose of being dissected, and anatomised pursuant to sentence. Joseph Free - 11 May 1836 - Hanged at Sydney for the murder of Edward Brown at Invermein.
