TWENTY POUNDS REWARD. THE undermentioned Sawyers have absconded from their hired service, viz — Robert Randall, tall and thin, dark hair, about thirty-five years of age, soft voice James Johnson, short, light hair, about twenty-seven years of age William Casey, short, light hair, pitted with small-pox, about thirty years of age Joseph Greenhatch or Greenhalgh, middle size, red face, about thirty-seven years of age Thomas Bowen or Brown, middle size, thin, a wen on the neck, about fifty years of age Thomas Boyland, middle size, freckled, about thirty years of age Michael Landrigan, above the middle size, stout, about thirty-five years of age Daniel Barry, tall, rather thin, swarthy, about thirty years of age James Howard, middle size, pale, about forty years of age Thomas Wilson, tall, stout, about twenty-eight years of age All persons are warned not to employ them, and a reward of Two Pounds each man will be given for apprehending and forwarding them to Brisbane Water. Trials of the Rioters, etc. The Court then adjourned till Wednesday morning, at nine, when twelve prisoners were put to the bar, charged with aiding and consenting to the administering an unlawful oath to Hollland Bowden, a Serjeant in the Bolton Regiment of Lancashire Local Militia. Their trial lasted till near seven o'clock, when the Jury retired for above half an hour, and brought in a verdict of Guilty against Christopher Medcalf (41), James Brierley (30), Henry Thwaite (24), Thomas Pickup (51), John Hurst (37), Samuel Radcliffe (35), who was acquitted yesterday of setting fire to the factory at Westhoughton, and Joseph Greenhalgh (22) — and acquitted Joseph Clement, William Gifford, John Hays, Peter Topping, and James Knowles; Lancaster Gazette, 30 May 1812.

The following convicts have been removed from our Castle, this week, to be severally transported, agreeably to their sentences, viz Charles Sefton, James Robinson, John Fisher, James Knowles, Thomas Holden, Samuel Crossley, John Hope, John Hurst, Christopher Medcalf, James Brierley, Henry Thwait, Joseph Greenhalgh, Thos. 1813 - Joseph (as GREENHALGH) arrived in Sydney on the ship Fortune as a convict. He had been tried at Lancaster Session of Pleas on 23/12/1812 & had a 7 year term. Joseph became successful as the Dep Superintendent Gov of Agriculture, Emu Plains, worked with police clearing the land. was also a servant to William Eaton, married Ann Smith 1820, they had a child Ellen Greenhatch.
