Joseph McSORELY was convicted at Fermanagh, Ireland on 19 Oct 1842 for assault - hitting James Robinson with a spade. 7yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'North Briton' arriving 4 April 1843. Single man; shoemaker; aged 23yrs; 5'4"; Roman Catholic; can read. Native Place - Co. Fermanagh, Ireland. Sister - Catherine Brothers - James & John 2yr Probation period in VDL. Assigned to work services. Married Mary HURLEY.
