Joseph Norton was 28 years old, a native of Bodsworth, Yorkshire. His occupation was a Soldier/Groom/Officer's servant. Joseph was 5'6" tall, sallow complexion, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, D on left side of breast. His occupation on his indent in VDL was a stableman. 1837: Assigned to Beresford Hudson, Patrick Plains. 30/2/1840: Aged 33 applied to marry Esther Caley/Casey nee Sixsmith (per Mary)aged 57?. They married at Maitland. 2/6/1841: TOL Maitland. 16/11/1844: TOL Cancelled - for suspicion of stealing wool. 1845: TOL Moreton Bay. 3/5/1849: COF 1862: Joseph died at Patrick Plains, aged 50. 1865: Esther died at Patrick Plains.
